Crunchyroll brought the goods to its industry panel at VCRX 2021, announcing a handful of new anime for this fall and into 2022, including a look at some incoming isekai and Crunchyroll Originals.
First up is Love of Kill, which is scheduled to air in 2022. Anime studio Platinum Vision is bringing to life this tale of two professional hitmen, where a very deadly game of cat-and-mouse ensues…unless they just happen to fall for each other.
Next is A Skeleton Knight in Another World, coming to from Studio KAI and HORNETS. This latest isekai is about a gamer wakes up one morning in in the video game world he knows and loves, but as a skeleton!
This certainly puts a damper on things, and all he wants is a quiet life. But when he sees evil afoot, he can’t help but step in and make things right.
January 2022 will see the premiere of The Strongest Sage with the Weakest Crest, the latest anime from J.C.STAFF. Mathias, a powerful sage, decides that reincarnation is the best way to become the strongest sage of all. Luckily, he’s been born with the best magical crest for combat on his first try!
Unluckily, this world doesn’t seem to have the highest standards when it comes to magic, and no one seems to grasp that Mathias actually has a great crest. So, he’ll just have to show them himself.
Next up is Fall 2021’s Muv-Luv Alternative! Flagship Line is producing this anime about humans who have long fought against the alien species BETA. Aiding the humans in battle are the humanoid weapons called Tactical Surface Fighters.
Also airing this fall is The Faraway Paladin. The studio behind this anime is Children’s Playground Entertainment, and the story follows Will, a human boy raised by three undead. As he grows up, Will begins to wonder who he is, and goes on a journey to discover the mysteries of his origins and those of a world filled with the undead.
A new Crunchyroll Original anime was also showcased! High Guardian Spice is a series about four magical girls who attend High Guardian Academy, a school for magical girls. As the four protagonists forge bonds and learn more about their magic, they’ll soon face an unknown threat. A trailer and new key visual art were released!
A brand new key visual has also been released for World’s End Harem, a Fall 2021 anime from Studio Gokumi and AXsiZ. The story is about Mizuhara Reito, a man who’s been in cryogenic sleep for the past five years. When he wakes, a deadly virus has killed off most of the world’s male population.
Most of the world wants Reito to help repopulate the earth, but he has another mission: find his beloved Erisa who’s been missing for the past three years.
