If you’re a The Prince of Tennis fan, you’re going to love-love this announcement from the 20th anniversary event—The Prince of Tennis II: U-17 World Cup, the franchise’s first TV anime in ten years, has been announced for 2022!
A teaser visual was released with the tagline, “To a world yet unseen…”

Based on the manga by Takeshi Konomi, the new series is being directed by Keiichiro Kawaguchi at Studio KAI and M.C.C, who produced the Hyotei vs. Rikkai Game of Future OVAs.

A few main cast members from the original 2001 series are already confirmed to return, including Junko Minagawa (Yona of the Dawn) as Ryoma Echizen, Ryotaro Okiayu (Bleach) as Kunimitsu Tezuka and Junichi Suwabe (Kuroko’s Basketball) as Keigo Atobe.
They’ll be joined on the court by Hiroki Yasumoto (Yuri!!! on ICE) as Hōō Byōdōin, Mamoru Miyano (Free!) as Ryōga Echizen, Yoshimasa Hosoya (MEGALOBOX) as Kuranosuke Shiraishi, Tarusuke Shingaki (Fate/Zero) as Eishirō Kite and Sachiko Nagai as Seiichi Yukimura.
