DRAGON BALL: The Breakers Brings 7 vs. 1 Online Multiplayer Action in 2022

A new Dragon Ball video game has been announced! This morning, Dimps (Soul Calibur VIDragon Ball Xenoverse) and BANDAI NAMCO revealed DRAGON BALL: The Breakers, an asymmetrical multiplayer game set for release in 2022.

The game is described as a 7 vs. 1 multiplayer online game (think Dead by Daylight or Friday the 13th: The Game) set in the world of Dragon Ball. No specific release date was announced beyond 2022, but the game will arrive on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. A closed beta test for PC was announced as “coming soon.”

Matches in the game involve seven “Survivors” trapped in a phenomenon known as the “Temporal Seam.” The eighth player, the “Raider,” is tasked with hunting each Survivor down, stepping into the shoes of timeless baddies like Frieza, Cell and Buu. Raiders will get stronger as time passes, with the trailer showing off Cell’s many forms.

Survivors are just regular, unpowered characters, but they can find power-ups, weapons and vehicles across the map, all while looking for a time machine to escape in. Raiders can destroy areas to limit hiding spots, reducing the chances a Survivor can escape.

Players can also customize their Survivor with skins and other cosmetics via in-game credits or optional in-game purchases. The game also promises to link save data with the popular Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 game.
