That’s another incredible milestone for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba! The opening theme for the currently airing Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Mugen Train Arc, “Akeboshi” by LiSA, was recently named one of the Songs of the Year at the 63rd Japan Record Awards!

The hit song joined “Kimi ga Soba na Iru Kara” from Junretsu, “Gomen ne Fingers crossed” by Nogizaka46, “CITRUS” by Da-iCE and more in the esteemed category. The award ceremony will air on December 30 in Japan.

And if that wasn’t enough, the series is the year’s most-downloaded digital single from a female artist, racking up more than 75,000 downloads in its first week. But LiSA is no stranger to critical acclaim.

The artist also performed the themes for the first run of the anime series with mega-hit “Gurenge,” as well as the theme for Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train. The former was tracked as the most profitable song of 2020 in Japan, and earned a Gold Award from the Japanese Society for Rights of Authors, Composers and Publishers.
