We’ve seen an otome villainess reincarnation attempting to do good, but what if it was the opposite—an otome background character who rises to villainy?
That’s the premise of Yomu Mishima and Monda’s Trapped in a Dating Sim: The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs light novel series, which is getting an anime adaptation in April 2022!
A teaser visual and trailer were revealed, along with main cast and staff:
The trailer highlights the personalities and plights of the main trio, featuring Takeo Ōtsuka (Run with the Wind) as Leon Fou Bartfort, Kana Ichinose (Akudama Drive) as Olivia and Ai Fairouz (RUMBLE GARANNDOLL) as Angelica Rapha Redgrave.

Kazuya Miura (Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out!) and Shinichi Fukumoto (Kemono Michi: Rise Up episode director) are directing the adaptation at studio ENGI, with series composition by Kenta Ihara (Mieruko-chan) and character design by Masahiko Suzuki (Tower of God creature design).
Seven Seas Entertainment, who publishes the light novel’s official English version, describes the series as:
Office worker Leon is reincarnated into a dating sim video game, where women reign supreme and only beautiful men have a seat at the table. But Leon has a secret weapon: he remembers everything from his past life, which includes a complete playthrough of the very game in which he is now trapped. Can Leon spark a revolution to change this new world order?
