As the year comes to a close, Twitter is taking a look back at the topics that dominated its social network this year. From the most retweeted post of the year—a reminder from BTS to be kind and stop AAPI hate—to the sports and movies we cheered for the most, 2021 was eventful from start to finish.
A little competition never hurt — at least when it comes to getting people to Tweet about TV. The most Tweeted shows of 2021 include reality TV competition favorites Big Brother Brasil and A Fazenda 13, in addition to K-drama Squid Game. pic.twitter.com/Wta20VoFHx

Twitter also summed up the top 10 television series people talked about worldwide this year. It’s not a shock that Squid Game is near the top of the list, but you might be surprised to hear that some of your favorite anime are on there as well! Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Jujutsu Kaisen and Tokyo Revengers made the most talked about list this year.
Coming in at #7 of the Most Discussed TV Shows Worldwide is Tokyo Revengers, a time-twisting tale that left viewers guessing what was going to happen next.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba comes in next at #4 in the top 10. Whether commiserating over the heartbreaking events of the Mugen Train Arc or getting hyped for the Entertainment District Arc, fans of Tanjiro and Nezuko had a lot to talk about this year.
And finally, it’s Jujutsu Kaisen in the #2 spot as the TV anime wrapped up earlier this year. Were fans talking about Yuji Itadori’s big fight? Perhaps discussing how much they love Satoru Gojo? Or maybe singing the praises of Panda? (It was definitely that last one.) The action-packed series dominated Twitter this year and excitement for the upcoming movie, Jujutsu Kaisen 0, will certainly keep the trend going.
