Hot off the heels of My Senpai is Annoying, studio Doga Kobo has revealed that its next wholesome-but-quirky romcom, Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie, will premiere on April 2 in Japan!
A new key visual was released, depicting the adorable pair as Shikimori lets out her cool side.
Additional cast details were also revealed, enlisting Misato Matsuoka (Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!) as Kyou Nekozaki, Rina Hidaka (The Rising of the Shield Hero) as Yui Hachiman and Nobuhiko Okamoto (My Hero Academia) as Shuu Inuzuka.
And to set the mood for the two lovebirds, Nasuo☆ will be making her anime debut for the opening theme, with Yuki Nakashima (The Strongest Sage with the Weakest Crest) on the ending theme.
Based on the manga by Keigo Maki, Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie is being directed by Ryota Ito (My Senpai is Annoying) and Shōhei Yamanaka (Remake Our Life!), with series composition by Yoshimi Narita and character designs by Ai Kikuchi (How Heavy Are the Dumbbells You Lift?).
Kodansha Comics, who publishes the series’ official English version, describes the series as:
Shikimori seems like the perfect girlfriend: cute, fun to be around, sweet when she wants to be…but she has a cool dark side that comes out under the right circumstances. And her boyfriend Izumi loves to be around when that happens! A fun and funny high school romance with a sassy twist, perfect for fans of Nagatoro-san and Komi Can’t Communicate!
