Now is the winter of our great content, as we’re pleased to announce that Requiem of the Rose King will be joining the Funimation lineup this month!

Like Romeo x Juliet and Blast of Tempest before it, Requiem of the Rose King takes a page out of William Shakespeare’s book, being loosely inspired by an early draft of The Tragedy of King Richard the Third to tell a darker tale of a boy torn between the battle for the English throne and the battle within.

Based on the manga by Aya Kanno, Requiem of the Rose King is being directed by Kentaro Suzuki (Angels of Death) at studio J.C.STAFF, starring Mitsuki Saiga (DRIFTERS) as Richard, the third son of the House of York, and Hikaru Midorikawa (SK8 the Infinity) as Henry of House Lancaster.

If you’re a fan of dark historical fantasy anime, don’t miss Requiem of the Rose King when it debuts as part of Funimation’s Winter 2022 simulcast lineup on January 9! It will stream on Funimation in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Australia and New Zealand.
