Ya Boy Kongming! Cranks Up its Opening Theme in New Trailer

Anime is a wellspring of banger opening themes, but you’ve never heard one quite like Ya Boy Kongming‘s, which was just unveiled in a new trailer for the upcoming music drama anime!

The trailer previews the plights of its central cast as they try their live their best (or new) nightlife to the tune of “Ciki Ciki Bam Bam”, a Japanese cover of the song by Hungarian artist Jolly, performed by hibiki & moka from lol (FAIRY TAIL), Akina & Taki from FAKY (Black Clover), and Maria Kaneya from GENIC (Fruits Basket), who form special unit QUEENDOM.

Ryotaro Okiayu (The Prince of Tennis) leads the charge as reincarnated general Zhuge Liang (courtesy name Kongming), who forms a strategic partnership with amateur musician Eiko Tsukumi, played by Kaede Hondo (Mieruko-chan), to bring peace to the world with club music.

Based on the manga by Yuto Yotsuba and Ryō Ogawa, Ya Boy Kongming! is being directed by Osamu Honma (Golden Time episode director) at studio P.A. Works, with scripts by Yoko Yonaiyama (Umamusume: Pretty Derby) and character designs by Kanami Sekiguchi (Charlotte) as character designer.

The anime adaptation is currently scheduled to premiere on April 5.
