Nintendo and The Pokémon Company have officially announced Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, the ninth generation of Pokémon games! Players will be able to explore a “borderless” open world, expanding on the concept from the recently released Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
Developed by Game Freak, the game’s open world will feature various towns that blend “seamlessly” into the wilderness, and trainers will be able to see various Pokémon all over as you battle, catch and train them.
The three starter Pokémon have also been revealed, including Sprigatito, the Grass Cat Pokémon; Fuecoco, the Fire Croc Pokémon; and Quaxly, the earnest and tidy Duckling Pokémon.
Aside from the three starters, there are many returning Pokémon as well, such as Magnemite, Stonejourner and even Hisuian Zoroark, all glimpsed in the first trailer for the game.
Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet land on Nintendo Switch later this year.
